Rehabilitation International (RI) is a global network of people with disabilities, service providers, researchers, government agencies and advocates promoting and implementing the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.  USICD is an associate member organization the United States for RI.  RI and its members develop and promote initiatives to protect the rights of people with disabilities and improve rehabilitation and other crucial services for disabled people and their families.  RI also works toward increasing international collaboration and advocates for policies and legislation recognizing the rights of people with disabilities and their families, including the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Law is for All, an International Conference on the Role of the Legal Profession in Strengthening Access to Justice

Law is for All, an International Conference on the Role of the Legal Profession in Strengthening Access to Justice, will be hosted by the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice of the New York City Bar on April 7 and 8, 2011, in Santiago, Chile. The Conference will be attended by representatives of countries from across the Americas. It will focus on the need to engage and train the legal community to make them better prepared to serve the needs of persons with disabilities, and will emphasize the importance of introducing significant reforms to these countries’ legal codes in order for them to reflect the principals of the CRPD.

The 6th International Conference on Health Issues in Arab Communities

The 6th International Conference on Health Issues in Arab Communities will take place May 1 - 7, 2011, in Aleppo, Syria. The conference is hosted by the ACCESS Community Health & Research Center, which continues to demonstrate its enduring commitment to preventing disease, reducing health disparities, and promoting wellness in the Arab community. The event will promote the World Health Organization-Eastern Mediterranean Region Office (WHO-EMRO) 2010 agenda by focusing on four major themes: social determinants of health with an emphasis on chronic disease, quality health care, and global warming/climate change and its effects on public health.

The 13th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled People

The 13th International Conference on Mobility and Transport for Elderly and Disabled People will be held in New Delhi, India, September 17 - 21, 2012. The conference Scientific Committee will be headed by Dr. Geetam Tiwari, professor of transportation research at the Indian Institute of Technology. The pre-conference meetings are scheduled for September 17 while the main conference will go from September 18 - 20, and the post-conference tours will take place on September 21.
