Japan Disaster Relief Credit Card Donations Now Accepted

March 23, 2011

People who wish to support people with disabilities affected by the March 11 Japan earthquake and tsunami now have a choice of  two mechanisms for making donations.  All proceeds go directly to the Relief Headquarters for Persons with Disabilities of Tohoku-Kanto Great Earthquake in Japan

Click here to make a donation via credit card.  Note that a $100 donation in US dollars would be a little more than ¥8100 Yen.  A $25 donation would be a little more than ¥2000 Yen.  In order to minimize expense in processing donations and converting foreign currencies, the Relief Headquarters requests that each donor give at minimum 1,000 Yen or more (about $12.35 in US dollars).  An on-line currency conversion calculator can assist you in calculating dollars or other currency into Yen.

Another approach to making donations is to make a deposit directly into a Japanese bank account set up for accepting donations from outside Japan.  Click here for bank transfer information.
