Participants who want to use CART transcription and who use screen reading software to access their computer may wish to test the ability of their screen reader to handle the transcription in advance of the call. You may do this at the demonstration site for the on-line CART transcription service. Some people may find it helpful to turn off echoing, if their screen reader has this capability.
Each user has the option to adjust the font and background for CART transcription text to his or her own preferred format. Font sizes can range from 14 point to 96 point font. A range of 15 different background colors and text colors are available.
Participants will be given an opportunity on the agenda to announce any resources they have developed that may be of interest to this audience. There will also be a resource table where USICD members are invited to distribute resources. However, all materials must be made available in accessible formats, if they are to be distributed on this table.
Please note that street parking around this meeting location is limited.
Building Parking: Very limited parking is available at the InterAction building. This is provided through Colonial Parking for $16, the entrance is on P Street.
Additional Parking: Two blocks from InterAction’s offices is additional garage parking. This is located on 18th Street NW and Massachusetts Avenue in the SEIU Building, the entrance is on P Street.
Metro: InterAction is located on 16th Street NW between O & P Streets, which is equally 0.6 miles from either the North or South exits of the Dupont Circle Metro on the Red Line.
